How to create Your HempScent Rope scrape

1. Pick the spot — travel corridors, deer trails or trail crossings, food plots, and field edges are all good locations to make your mock scrape.
2. Hang your rope — open the bag, tie your rope off to a branch or limb using the pre-attached paracord.
3. Clear the area— use a weed whacker, machete, or rake to clear a large area around your rope. You want to allow the deer the ability to easily access your scrape from multiple different directions.
4. Make the Scrape — use a rake, weed whacker, or your boot to rip up and disturb a large area of the ground directly below the rope. 
5. Apply the Scent — with the included 4 ounce bottle of HODAG AllSeason Scent, soak the frayed rope fibers, squirt scent on the knot, and let some drip into the scrape.
6. Let nature take over — Similar to a dog peeing on a fire hydrant, once one deer leaves its scent, others can't resist adding theirs, turning your mock scrape into a year-round deer scent communication hub!

FAQs

How long does the rope last?
One HODAG HempScent Rope can last for years before breaking down. We've had ropes that have been hanging for 5 years that are still in good shape!

Is this considered bait?

No, what we are doing is taking advantage of how deer naturally communicate via glandular scent, and getting them to do it in locations that are advantageous to us as deer hunters. This helps to put deer in-front of your trail camera and/or stand locations.

How often should I re-apply the scent?

After the initial setup and scenting, as long as the deer are interacting with your rope consistently there's no need to re-apply scent as the deer are doing it for you and applying the best deer scent there is, the kind that comes straight from the deer! Our HODAG AllSeason Scent is really just designed to get that initial wave of deer interaction and "jumpstart" the deer's natural scent communication. If after 2-3 weeks you aren't having consistent interaction, then I would recommend re-applying the scent or trying a different location with your setup.
