The HODAG HempScent Rope Multi-Setup is the "make it your own" rope scrape system: enough absorbent HempScent Rope and AllSeason Scent to cut, hang, and build multiple mock scrapes wherever you want them. Set them in the right spots, let the deer take them over, and reap the benefits season after season — these setups last for years.

What makes it work is the rope itself. We blend the fibers specifically for deer scent communication — ultra-absorbent so it soaks up and holds both the included AllSeason Scent, and more importantly, the deer's own glandular scent; yet durable enough to hold up in the elements year after year.

The Original Rope Scrape

HODAG didn't just make a rope scrape — we started the whole category. Back in 2021, we were the first brand in the industry to bring a rope scrape product to market. Due to it's effectiveness in the whitetail woods, the idea caught fire, and today you'll find imitators all over the place. But this is the one that started the craze. When you run the HODAG HempScent Rope, you're not hunting over a copy — you're hunting over the original, from the brand that pioneered rope scrapes and still leads the category.

That head start shows up in the product. We didn't adapt some existing rope to the job — we engineered our HempScent fiber blend from the ground up specifically for deer scent communication, and years of real-world hunting have only sharpened it. How it works

Pick a good location, cut the rope to the length you want (zip-tie them or tie a knot so it won't unravel), and hang it about 3.5-4 feet off the ground. Make a large scrape in the dirt underneath, then prime the rope with AllSeason Scent to trigger that first interaction. Once deer start working it, leave it alone — they keep it fresh themselves. Low pressure, no reapplying, and a working scrape right in front of your trail camera or stand.

That's the whole HODAG philosophy. We're not trying to bottle a buck's glands or urine. We'd rather get the deer to lay down the real thing themselves — the best scent there is comes straight out of the deer.

What is a rope scrape?
It's a mock scrape built under a hanging rope instead of a branch. Deer work the rope like an overhanging licking branch, leaving and reading glandular scent, while the ground scrape below completes the communication site.

How many mock scrapes can I make with 9 feet of rope?
That's up to you — cut it into as many lengths as you like. The Multi-Setup is designed so you can build several scrapes from one kit.

We recommend at least 30-36 inches of HempScent Rope if you are going to hang with the attachment cord - this is enough thick rope to keep bucks from getting horns caught up in the paracord. If you go that route, you can comfortably make 3 rope scrape setups.

How do I keep the rope from unraveling?
After or before cutting, secure the ends with tape, a zip tie, or a simple knot before hanging. We recommend the know as the deer seem to key in on it when interacting with the rope.

How long does it last?
The fiber blend is built to hold up in the elements, and a well-placed rope scrape can stay productive for years. I have ropes that have been left out and hanging for 5+ years and are still in great shape.
